Time to go back to the good old days of napalm and nukes...Introducing the second committee of CHIREC MUN 2017 -
Historic Security Council.
Under the Charter, the Security Council has primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security. It has 15 Members, and each Member has one vote. Under the Charter, all Member States are obligated to comply with Council decisions. The Security Council takes the lead in determining the existence of a threat to the peace or act of aggression. It calls upon the parties to a dispute to settle it by peaceful means and recommends methods of adjustment or terms of settlement. As we rewind to the 20th Century, at the heights of tensions between the US and Russia. Nuclear Holocaust has never been closer and whatever the outcome, one thing is for sure, history will never be the same. The stage has been set for the showdown of the century.
Welcome to the grandest game of them all - Able Archer 83.
