Guess who's back?
International Press Corps (IPC) at CHIREC MUN 2018!
“The power that a pen yields, the truth portrayed; followed by a click, your strategy betrayed.” The International Press Corps is a team of journalists and photographers who work to evaluate and preserve the gist of the proceedings in the committees and the evolved circumstances. As IPC members at CHIREC MUN, journalists will make reports and give an unbiased or opinionated closure to their observance conforming to the guidelines, and conduct press conferences. Alongside, the photographers will keep a chronological track by taking pictures and assisting the former to form newsletters. Buckle up this July, for we have our IPC members on you!
United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
“The Council with a cure, to foster a world eternally secure.” One of the six principal organs of the United Nations, the United Nations Security Council is charged with the maintenance of international peace and security in addition to the admission of new members to the United Nations. Subsequently, the restoration of serenity vests in the council the power to impose sanctions. At CHIREC MUN, this committee comprising 15 members will take the lead in the detection of any disruptions to peace followed by the usage of peaceful methods to settle disputes among parties. May your ethical perspectives attain peace this July, for security is a priority!
World Humanitarian Summit 2018 (WHS 2018).
“Humans throughout, but no humanity.” The World Humanitarian Summit was convened by the former Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in 2016 to help share knowledge and establish common best practices among the wide spectrum of organisations involved in humanitarian action. This July, CHIREC MUN simulates the Summit and brings to every delegate, a platform to discuss and formulate commitments, to minister to the victims and provide aids for those caught in humanitarian crises. So come, debate for a cause at WHS 2018!
Joint Crisis Cabinet (JCC): Cuban Missile Crisis.
“A resolution in desperate need, is a crisis indeed.” A 13-day military and political stand-off, the scattering of fear and grave tension between the Soviet Union and the United States, this was the very immediate aftermath of the installation of nuclear-armed Soviet missiles on Cuba. Consequently, the Cuban Missile Crisis led to the agreement between the Soviet Union and the United States where the former would withdraw the missiles in exchange for the latter to prohibit the invasion of Cuba. The Joint Crisis Cabinet at CHIREC MUN, enables the delegates to be a part of the respective blocs and solve the revived crisis. Have a divergent experience this July, for JCC promises a surge of events!
North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).
“Military alliance with prestigious strength. The aim is to preserve peace, at length.” The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation was founded in 1949 to preserve the purpose of the North Atlantic Treaty. Functional to this day, it works to retain democratic values and provide its member countries with an opportunity to cooperate over military and security related issues. At CHIREC MUN, delegates are given a platform to find peaceful resolutions for disputes that in the longer run, prevent conflict between these North American and European countries. Be a part of NATO this July, for intriguing debate shall flourish!
Human Rights Council (HRC).
“A modern fantasy, yet mesmerising sight; would be to see all of humanity, treated right.” An organ of the General Assembly, the Human Rights Council has been specially designed to promote, strengthen, and protect human rights. Formed in 2006 as the successor to the UN Commission on Human Rights, it is an inter-governmental body that works to keep a check on the situation that revolves around human rights and to address any violation witnessed. Be present at CHIREC MUN this July, where debate will meet the desire to protect a prized possession!
International Court of Justice (ICJ).
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” A principal judicial organ of the United Nations, the International Court of Justice was established in 1945 to impart justice on the international level. It typically works to settle legal disputes set forth by the States involved. In addition, it gives advisory opinions on legal questions raised by the organs and specialised agencies of the United Nations. As a part of CHIREC MUN, the 15 judges in the committee shall work to promote equity with decisions guided by the international law. Let July bare witness to your excellency, for justice shall prevail!
Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC).
“Missiles throughout, humans to dust. A gun’s very enemies, are misuse and rust.” DISEC (Disarmament and International Security Committee) is the first committee of the United Nations General Assembly. True to its name, it works to prevent hostility and conflicts among countries, and discusses matters pertaining to international peace and security. Make your way to be a part of DISEC this July, for some truly authentic debate.

Introducing CHIREC MUN’s USG Delegate Relations, Maarya Siddiqi!
The first impression of Maarya would probably be along the lines of hyperactive, wacky, and sometimes totally unhinged. But perceptions can be deceptive and in her case, far from reality. (Or so she claims :P) Currently a 12th grader at CHIREC International, studying Science and Psychology, she aspires to become a doctor. With an unquestionably resolute, committed, and versatile personality, she was the Deputy Head Girl of her school. Being an excellent public speaker, she has participated and won several extempore and debate competitions over the last few years. She’s very passionately involved in community service, trying to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate ones.
A self-proclaimed #1 One Direction fan, a TV shows fanatic, and a huge Potterhead, Maarya’s favorite activities include travelling the world (well, dreaming about travelling the world), sleeping, and pretending like she can sing. Do note that she is one of the most approachable and friendly people you’ll ever meet, always eager to help. Whatever your problems or queries regarding the conference may be, she’s at your service. Make your way to CHIREC MUN this July, for she promises that your experience will be fantastic, with quality debate, a highly competent Executive Board and (most importantly), great food! Oh and of course, the best Secretariat in the history of Model United Nations!
Introducing CHIREC MUN’s USG Delegate Relations, Ria Kari!
Meet Ria, a senior at CHIREC International studying Commerce (Don’t even start with the commerce jokes). A generous, pragmatic and sarcastic individual, she defines the proverb “great things come in small packages”. Like most people, she enjoys TV shows. Enjoys? No, obsesses over. If you’ve met her she’s probably discussed a TV show to the length of treating the characters as real people. Other than that she also like playing the piano, procrastinating and gossiping.
Interesting to note, depending on her mood, she is either a perfectionist or an anarchist. In class you’ll probably catch her making her notes unnecessarily extra or messy, there is just no in-between with her. But when it comes to MUNs, it’s the perfectionist that takes over. She’s has an experience of around 10 MUNs and demonstrates an inclination towards unconventional committees. She is very approachable and talkative which makes her the perfect fit for USG Delegate Relations. Feel free to contact her at any point with queries and expect her to spam you to receive payments. She guarantees CHIREC MUN 2018 will be packed with many astonishing moments, and will inspire you to reach greater heights. So bring yourself to CHIREC MUN for a wondrous experience!
Introducing CHIREC MUN’s USG Logistics, Sravya Velamuri!
Didn't get enough sleep? No, you don't need another cup of coffee. Sravya's voice will wake you up in an instant. With unmeasurable energy and a passion for writing and art, creativity is her middle name. You'll probably see her either directing others, chatting nonstop, or jumping from place to place faster than you can imagine. With a knack for organizing and immense confidence she,has boundless capability but still remains an Indian born confused desi at heart.
At CHIREC MUN 2018, you'll probably spot her zooming through the crowd on her next mission, waving frantically or tiring her lungs with her loud commands or probably annoying a delegate with her lame puns.
Well, if her directions don't reach you her jokes sure will... As USG Logistics, she has only one objective- making CHIREC MUN 2018 an exciting and memorable experience!
Introducing CHIREC MUN’s USG Logistics, Aanya Khandelwal!
A senior at CHIREC International studying Science and IP, Aanya Khandelwal is one of the most diligent, committed and resolute person you will ever come across. Being the President of the Interact Club, a skilled basketball player and an excellent pianist there are very few things she cannot do. Some of her talents include binge watching the whole season of Suits/Sherlock/htgawm in one day and gobbling up an entire plate of Paradise biryani. But we have to say this, you have our sympathy if you have ever been or will ever be a victim of Aanya’s not-so-funny jokes.
Never failing to deliver the best, this year she’s got many innovative ideas up her sleeve. Along with the logistics team, she will spare no effort to ensure the success of CHIREC MUN 2018.
Introducing CHIREC MUN’s USG Marketing Sophia Azad!
If you’ve met her before, she’s either intimidated you, or made a complete fool out of herself, but either way, she makes sure her presence is felt wherever she goes. A gifted Kathak dancer, passionate drummer, computer science enthusiast and an aspiring model, Sophia is currently an A levels student hoping to pursue business studies later on, making her the ideal person to carry out the task of marketing. With a strong social-media presence, she knows how to spread the word, and she sure knows how to sell her product, but isn’t one to make false promises.
But don’t let her smile fool you, she means business. She looks forward to making this MUN exciting and fruitful, and hopes to see many delegates attend this year’s conference. (Which will be a result of her hard work!)
Introducing CHIREC MUN’s USG Marketing, Aryana Rao!
Aryana Rao is a 12th grader at CHIREC International. She is a passionate MUNner and an enthusiastic debater. She started her MUN career in Grade 7 and has continued on since, with a near hundred percent win record. An aspiring entrepreneur, Aryana has a fixed goal in mind, taking into account her passion for business and her several ventures for being an active member of the marketing team of various organisations. Aryana also has a passion for orange juice, pizza and gossip girl and will not stop talking when you meet her.
She loves communicating, meeting new people and talking at all times. Aryana is glad to serve as USG Marketing for CHIREC MUN and is excited for the success of the MUN.
Introducing CHIREC MUN’s USG Design, Jayanth Komarraju!
Have you ever met someone with a strong logical as well as creative sense? At CHIREC MUN, we have- Jayanth. When you meet him, he might seem like an extremely chill and easy-going student- cause he is. But he is also backed by some solid skills in the fields of design and technology.
Music has always been an integral part of his life. Being the lead vocalist at Zero Gravity, Jayanth has performed at some prestigious venues including BITS Pilani Hyderabad, corporate events, and the last social night of CHIREC MUN. He takes great interest in the subjects of Physics and Economics, and is currently studying Science with Economics. In his term as Secretary of Interact Club, he had been a part of some grand events. Motivated, dedicated and passionate accurately describe Jayanth’s attitude towards work.
With some fascinating ideas and innovative strategies, Jayanth is ready to meet you at CHIREC MUN 2018!
Introducing CHIREC MUN’s USG Technology, Deepti Sunkara!
Have a difficult math problem? An algorithm you're not capable of coding? Well, Deepti Sunkara is your girl. There’s nothing she can’t solve and no problem too big. In her free time, you can probably find her surrounded by a group of people either begging for her help or simply making fun of her height. Don’t let her height throw you off guard. As they say “looks can be deceiving”; because Deepti is the personification of phrase, “chhota packet, bada dhamaka”. She may be quiet at first, but give her a poke and you won’t regret it.
The exact antonym of intimidating, Deepti can be easily approached by anyone considering the fact that the youngest delegate in CHIREC MUN 2018 is probably as tall her and no amount of Complan can change that! Deepti strives to make CHIREC MUN 2018 one of the best conferences you have attended.
Introducing CHIREC MUN’s Head of IP, Hafsa Hussaini!
She was four years old, when her love for babbling made her write a poem on her ‘little pussy cat’ and perform the same on stage. Ever since, Hafsa has been an avid reader and writer. Working her way through poetry, essays and constantly expressing her vivid imagination through mere letters of black and white, she is now a freelancer for a newspaper. From shaping her thoughts to her psyche, she knows that writing invariably had a positive impact on her life and now wants to embolden all budding writers towards the zenith of their ambitions.
Currently an IB student who always takes the harder path to test her limits (uhm, pure science HLs), you will either find her arguing about social norms or occasionally feeling like a bubbly little child every time she succeeds in giving talk therapies as an amateur. An ambivert who loves singing, will judge everyone based on the ‘vibes’ they radiate and will constantly talk about her dream to become a psychiatrist, she has a very versatile yet assiduous personality. Regardless, Hafsa wants the MUN to be a fostering experience for all speakers, photographers and writers and will always help everyone, especially focussing on a healthy and disparate experience for the IP team. She is eagerly waiting to see all of you in July!
Introducing CHIREC MUN's Director of Photography, Krithi Nalla!
“A picture is worth a thousand words” is one of the oldest clichés. If the statement holds true, shouldn’t a series of photos be worth a million words? Maybe, but not necessarily– a few carefully taken photos can convey incredible power and emotion.
She’s not the one to drag too much attention to, but still walking around slowly with a camera capturing everything (stalker alert). She is currently a 12th grader studying Science with Fashion Tech, aspiring to be a product and graphic designer. With a great zest for art she has now successfully made an up and running business painting and brightening up walls. She’s also taken up interest in playing the piano and is soon to be the co-founder of an upcoming NGO. If she’s not occupied doing that, you would find her stuffing her face and binge watching Castle for the 7th time. Don’t challenge her with this one task, one of her accomplishments includes completing the whole of Game of Thrones during the 10th pre-boards in 5 1/2 days.
With a great eye for detail, color and aesthete, Krithi loves nature and you’ll probably have your picture taken in front of anything green. She knows how to make her photographs pop and get that extra oomph. Don’t believe it? Come see for yourself this July.
